was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell Me if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!” The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the Living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. In the past, He let all nations go their own way. Yet He has not left Himself without testimony. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
